  • Ill save my blockbuster rant for another night. I knew i stopped renting from them for a reason.

So the Oscars are over and had i not been a complete idiot, cnn should probably be packing up a 51″ HDTV for me right now. On a bit of a whim, I decided to enter their Oscar Picks game. Using careful research and some clever consensus aggregation, I managed to pick 19 out of the 24 categories correctly. This isn’t what is killing me….as at least three of the five categories I missed were for STUPIDITY. Let me explain.

I missed “supporting actor” cause of my hate for Tim Robbins and on the sites i was reading there was buzz about Watanabe. For some reason i missed “adapted screenplay” since i thought there wasn’t a chance that LOTR would sweep so i picked mystic river. I also missed animated feature film, [which i changed 8 hours before the oscars!] going again for a darkhorse (triplets of belleville). These three categories really were dumb mistakes on my part, very risky picks.

I also missed “animated short film” and “cinematography” but I really had heard good things about Seabiscuit’s cinematography so I didn’t feel too bad about missing that one. And as for animated short film…..it was pretty much a flat out guess.

If 21 or 22/24 wins someone the 51″ HDTV / TiVo package on cnn, i’m gonna be pissed! I’m not sure how i got all the random small categories like the documentaries, foreign films, etc….just a bit of reading up on the flims and checking out the consensus favorites…….

Happy Birthday to my grandma who turned 21 on February 29th. (Think about it)

  • I’ve been spending lots of time looking for work. I had a good interview the other day, but I don’t want to jinx anything even though I know i’ll be a great fit for the company. I should hear back by the end of the week. My fingers are crossed for this one. I think I’m going to practice some cooking tomorrow, testing out a creme brulee recipe since i’ve got the proper bowls and equipment.

Not much else to report for now…….
