I'm alive. Seriously. I am finally recovering from a cold which i've been battling with the past couple of weeks. I tend not to get sick that often, but when I do it lasts longer than it should. I don't let a silly cold stop me from going out and enjoying this wonderful city. Case in point....
On Friday night, I surprised my girlfriend with dinner at acme chophouse and then we saw cirque du soleil: corteo. I was very impressed with the production. The music....characters. (was the whistler performing from mozart's magic flute?) ..the spectacle. It reminded me of seeing Phantom in London, except with acrobatics. Saturday night, we dropped by a party for a bit and then went out to see Walk the Line. Amazing movie which is sure to battle Spielberg's "Munich" for awards at next year's Oscars. And finally, Sunday night, we hit the Fillmore for the Academy Is / All American Rejects show. I was more impressed with "Academy Is" but i've been listening to their cd for months now, so I was more familiar with their music even though they weren't the headlining band.
See what I mean about not slowing down, even when i'm feeling under the weather? Thankfully I took the day off on Monday, which gave me time to unwind from my non-stop weekend.
Hm.. I realize my title underlining/italicizing/quoting is probably not correct, but i'm too lazy to go dig out my copy of Strunk and White. =)
Hopefully i won't be too swamped at work tomorrow, but if I do get stressed, I can always stop and think about how everything else in my life is just perfect right now. That always makes me smile.

Finally
It's weird to read the words "my girlfriend" and know they're referring to me.
And you know, I never asked you what you thought of the bands. How sad that I'm learning it here. My bad.
